What is the Price Guarantee?
Google Flights uses smart algorithms that can sometimes predict with certainty that the price of a flight won’t drop any further before departure. For selected flights, indicated by a colorful price badge, Google tracks the price continuously until the first flight of your itinerary departs. If the price does drop? You get the difference refunded!
How much can I get back?
When you book a flight with the Price Guarantee, Google will refund you the difference between the price you paid and the lowest price for that flight shown on Google Flights before departure. The price difference must be at least $5 USD, and you can receive up to $500 USD per year through your Google account. You can have up to three price-guaranteed flights at once in your account.
How does it work?
- Search for your flight on Google Flights.
- Choose a flight with the colorful price badge.
- Book your flight with the airline or travel agency through the link on Google Flights.
- Google will monitor the price and notify you if it drops.
The process is simple:
Important: This feature is only available for flights departing from the United States and when the currency is set to USD.
How do you get your money back?
If the price drops, you’ll receive an email from Google Flights after the first flight departs. To get your money back, all you need to do is confirm that you booked the flight. The amount will be transferred to your Google Pay account within 48 hours. Easy, right?
What does it cost?
Nothing! The Price Guarantee is completely free. Google does the work for you while you sit back, knowing you’ve secured the best deal.
And what if the price doesn’t drop?
No worries! If the price doesn’t drop, you can be sure that you’ve gotten the best price for your flight. Win-win!
